tadpole update...

The Arastradero tadpoles are getting big. Their little pond won't make it through the summer which lead me to wonder of they are Pacific Tree Frog tadpoles as opposed to a bull frog or more aquatic frog that would be down by the permanent pond. That would explain how an entire generation of frog (toad?) could be thriving it what amounts to a glorified mud puddle.

I know most of them probably won't make it to adulthood. Birds, snakes, maybe even other frogs will eagerly gulp them down -- a spring treat for the wild palate. But some will survive. Yey!

If you stop and look, really look, you'll see that life is everywhere, not jutst in the "wilderness," but truly everywhere. Grass shoots up out of the tiniest crack in a sidewalk. Mice find the little nooks in your kitchen behind the stove. I find spiders hiding on the inside of my motorcycle's fairing. Weeds grow on the freeway. Birds nest in tin roofs of garages.

I for one like seeing all this life, all this commotion. Spring has sprung. Go see it...
